Shame the Phaser name got applied to printers that no longer involve a phase-change dye transfer process. The original dye-sub Phasers (developed by Tektronix) were game-changers.
This is just a pedestrian laser printer, albeit a fairly good price on a fairly respectable brand.
Great price for a color laser printer, however I always recommend that people also check to see what replacement toner is. In this case I see that all 4 colors can be found for less than $50 total for generics they are $65 per color direct from Xerox
God help me, I got one, despite Xerox' terrible reputation of late (along with a 3-year Square Trade warranty, at least)...
The reviews scare me, but and Adorama had surprisingly reviews on it, and the one pro review I read wasn't bad (mainly complained about not being an all-in-one, and the high color toner cost, but third-party toner options make that less of an issue).
I've wanted a color laser ever since my last Inkjet permanently clogged, just like the one before it, and the one before that. I've been solely running one of those tiny monochrome lasers that were like $20 for about a year, then jumped up to $50+. Given new cartridges for them cost around $50, I wish I had bought a stack of those printers back then, but I never thought they would actually go up in price over time. Oh well, thanks to that I get to try this. Wish me luck!
great deal. i have a Dell all-in-one as my primary black printer. got this color laser for two days now, and so-far so-good. larger than anticipated from photo (prints legal size 8.5x14). set of replacement toner on for sale at $37-54. don't know how long it will last, but can't beat $70- (unless it breaks in 3 months)
Buy aftermarket toner not xerox toner. Plenty of reputable after market toner suppliers online with great prices and quality toner. Be smart, do your research and save. You are NOT required to use oem toner to maintain warranty compliance.

Anyone know who made the print engine?
