I can't stand that they advertise the maximum supported resolution and you have to sift through 3 pages of nonsense to find out what the actual resolution is: 800 x480 (in other words, DVD resolution, which is not really all that bad, and obviously you're not going to get a full HD projector for fifty bucks, but still, it irks me that they have to try to fudge the ad. That being said, it's a hell of a lot of projector for $50 and if you're playing DVDs... who cares? The flaws compared to a quality projector, besides the lower panel resolution: - a little dimmer (but not dramatically so; it does a great job in a darkened room, even on an eggshell-painted wall) - crude optical subsystem: no zoom and basic optical Keystone correction, so projector placement is critical to get the image size you want and avoid geometric distorsion, and there is some vignetting (enough to be noticed if you pay close attention, but most people wouldn't know)
So really, even before you consider the price, it's not bad at all. And at fifty bucks, it's a bargain and a half.
yeah, agree with the resolution comment below. Also the actual brightness will not be anywhere near 2000 lumens. Still fine as a 'fun' projector for kid's room
