I am not a huge Best Buy fan. Ever since the HP fire sale on the Touchpad in 2011 I have tried to avoid buying anything from them. Why? Because HP started dumping the Touchpad on a Saturday. The prices, everywhere, were 99.00 for a 16GB and 149.00 for a 32. Except at Best Buy. They tacked on an additional 50.00 per unit for no reason at all other than greed. Up to that point they had probably not sold 10% of their inventory. Which would be about the same for and every other vendor. Yet while WM and every other vendor honored the price set by HP, Best Buy decided to take advantage of the frenzy and up the price. To make matters worse....there was a no return policy. So I ordered two online from BB, after buying two at Walmart 7am that morning, and one came with a crack in the side. BB said screw you so, since then, I avoid shopping there. Buy from or and you will never have those kind of issues.
Some info from a friend and online reviews; the 2nd Gen Show has an integrated Zigbee controller - like the Echo Plus, and more microphones to assist in better voice recognition. Its on-screen ability to add 'skills' is a great improvement over the mobile app.. and as an upcoming update - the ability to make commercial Skype calling a reality. That is a huge benefit that, ((assuming it comes out)) - will be a game changer. Making video calls outside the vendors own hardware space - calling mobile phones of friends/relatives. There is future recording/playback of movies coming for this Show, but that has not been explained fully.
I believe that Youtube access is as a browser when you ask for Youtube. Once you do that a browser comes up, you tell it which to use and it goes to YouTube like any other laptop would - in a browser window. You then can search using voice within the browser, which is interesting because - since its a browser you can log in & see your subscribed channels.
You can thank Google and for fighting over each others competitive products for blocking innate access, but using a browser does provide some interesting side-benefits.
You can use Vimeo on the Show, however - which does allow voice commands within it for everything.
Got the Samsung NU8000 for family because last year's MU8000 looks terrific in my living room, plus twenty bucks to take the old junker away was also a great deal.
