Sometimes you want a "weak" drill and driver set in particular for finish carpentry. If you use a set that is too powerful, you may end up damaging the wood when you drive screws in. I use a 12V set for kitchen cabinets, bookcases,... I would not recommend a 20V for thin plywood. If I do rough carpentry, then yes, I use a 20V set because I really care more about the solidity of the construction than the appearance and the wood tends to be thicker.
