Good deal. Its a very simple system. Games are inexpensive and are microSD cards in a plastic cartridge like holder. My daughter has been playing it for the past year since she was 3. Definitely a good xmas gift idea for younger kids.
Does anybody know the age range? is this for little kids or an alternative to more mature systems like the Wii or Playstation.
This is great for kids under 8. Its cheap price and flashy looks makes it a great idea for Christmas. Its huge selection of different game and characters makes it easy for kids to get into and follow through with the game.
However, the games are very simple, and teaches very simply math, reading, and sciences (depending on what you get). It may be a good start for preschooler, BUT... the function is too frustrating to deal with. Constantly crashing, crashing on the start, etc makes it hard for kids to start it themselves. And the worst part? The controller. The camera follows the light, not the controller, so for example if you need to go left, you physically have to move your body to the left, not wave the wand to the left with your wrist. The wand is very inaccurate making it hard for kids to start it up by themselves and play it completely. There's a reason why this thing is

nothing educational on the playstation.
the wii perhaps some titles but this is a better/cheaper option.
