Do not order . They don't work with unlock gsm phones. Error (this email already registered cannot be activated) tried 4 different phones. No support at all, only email support (left 4 email request pat 2 weeks never receive any answers) it's just a scam not a company.
I agree, this company is just awful. THey took 4 days to reply to my email and the reply was just some copy and pasted reply.
I am starting to think that they dont even have actual human Customer Service Reps but rather it is bots that are replying to the emails using "predictive text".
I'll chime in. I had both good and bad experiences, so it's a wash.
1. They're a real company and their SIM products do work with the unlocked GSM phones I tried (all iPhones though - a 5s from Verizon, a 6 also from Verizon, and a 6 from AT&T).
2. They *never* replied to my email inquiries.
3. Cancelling their trial plan features can be done online, but there's always an extra plan that you need to call in to cancel (ie. Premium Plus, Premier). Call 1-888-369-7476.
4. I got a refund for the feature they charged me after the 30 day period where I couldn't cancel it online or via email request. The phone rep gave me a refund that same day.
5. No matter how you slice and dice it, $0.99 is a great deal for a SIM. Cancel before the end of the trial period and use their app for free voice & text, and you still get some free data service. Who else offers that?
Worst customer service experience of my life. Got the sim and 2GB of data. Was having problems getting the phone to work using the app for voice and text. Emailed and they said I got data only so I could not make calls even though I told them we were trying to use the app. After many emails back and forth they said to call, I called the number and it was a recording saying support options had changed then it hung up. I explained this over email and they said to call back. I tried again and got the same message and hang up. I emailed back and told them to call the number they provided, and they just asked me to call again. I gave up never did get everything working as it was supposed to.
I use this exact sim card now. Maybe nobody knows more about freedompop than I do. I had their sprint service for 2 years and had their hotspot a year before that.
Freedompop is not for the faint of heart. You need to cancel things on the website like auto top-off and the "free premium service" for one month.
My experience with this new sim card has been great. Firstly, I am not a talker so getting poor cell phone reception (which was the case with my Sprint Freedompop phone) wasn't a big deal. In fact, it was a nice excuse to text...which I prefer. The sim card I believe is on T-Mobile and seems to be much better.
The internet service is a 3g service, but a nice 3g service. I don't mind. I use it for directions and streaming music. If I wanted to watch ESPN in 1080p on my phone, I would not use freedompop.
I got the moto g4 off this website for $150 and popped the sim card. That is all it took. I called freedompop and in about 5 minutes had my old number as my new phone #. It was that easy.
So let me recap. My Sprint phone I bought new from a guy at burger king (seriously), cost me $70 and I paid about $10 for 2 years of cell phone service (Bought voice mail at $2 a month). So around $80 for a phone and 2 years service, TOTAL! I don't care what you say, that is awesome. Sprint used 4g also.
Now I have paid $150 for my moto G4 and I will pay 0 dollars a month for my service. If it lasts for 2 years, I will have paid a total of $230 for 4 years of cell phone service and two cell phones.
There is not a better bargain around! Period!
Oh, and if you're doing the math, that's $6.00 a month over 4 years. 230/38. and $220 of that was the price of the phones so that was a personal choice. You could opt for a $50 phone (BLU?) and make my $6.00 a month look extravagant.
I got this last week for 1 dolloar. The sim card worked right out the box. I'm using it in a Galaxy s4, it's unlocked. Service in NYC so far so good. I'm really in it for the free data as this is my 2nd phone for music/games etc. I was able to cancel the Premier Plus trial online , unlike what the other guy said here. It's just in REALLY SMALL PRINT , where you click into services etc. and the link to cancel is on the bottom right of the page. Only used it for a week, so can't say more about their service. I won't be using talk/txt.
